My inspiration can be summed up as Life! I really can't say there is one main inspiration. I have a passion for beetles at the moment......blimey they're interesting! Also tree bark but these can be a bit transient. I didn't consider urban landscapes until I discovered an artist who paints the backstreets of Manchester and thought....I really like those! So inspiration comes from being alive to everything!

It can have its draw backs when there are no limitations, sometimes a more structured approach is easier. So I have always started with one, well maybe two different methods and let it develop. I primarily do free machine and hand embroidery but with the addition of painting, printing, ripping, burning, bleaching, rusty bits and embellishments galore.....in any form!

Eventually a career path was formed and for an awful lot of years I was a director of a furniture company. I have always had yen to actually stop being a boss and rely solely on my own creativity that was bubbling away.
